SPRING
Nature is abundant at Pinsou in springtime whether this takes the form of myriad wild flowers in the fields, or fruit trees in blossom, or the chorus of bird song. Spring days are often warm and sunny, but they can also be damp and misty with veils of low clouds shrouding the valleys and mountain peaks – offering often spectacular atmospheric effects.

White Water Rafting/ Canoeing Spring melt water results in a considerable increase in river water levels, making conditions ideal for white water adventuring. 20 mins drive from the gîte is the river adventure centre of Haut Salat – who will provide all the equipment and guidance necessary for a day out to remember.
Mid-Summer Music Festival (June 23rd) St. Girons is noted for the number and variety of musicians performing on this, a most memorable of evenings. The ‘Transhumance’ Festival Every year at the end of May/ beginning of June, farmers drive their flocks of sheep and goats, or herds of cattle up to the high mountain summer pastures (the transhumance). Animals and herders gather together in the villages of Massat or Seix before beginning the day-long walk up to the high pastures. These gatherings also provide a focus for the local communities – and an opportunity to enjoy the entertanment provided (folk dancing, singing traditional songs, and arts and crafts markets). |
